‘No One Else Could Have Pulled It Off’: Quentin Tarantino Unveils His ‘Masterpiece’ Film

Quentin Tarantino has significantly impacted Hollywood since his breakout with 1992’s Reservoir Dogs. His subsequent film, Pulp Fiction, cemented his status as a talented filmmaker, leading to a remarkable filmography. Tarantino has famously declared his intent to cap his directorial career at ten films, emphasizing a desire to retire on a high note. His most recent release, 2019’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, marks his ninth film, with plans for one final project initially titled The Movie Critic. However, that project has been scrapped, prompting Tarantino to reassess his future endeavors.

In a recent interview on The Church of Tarantino podcast, he discussed his film hierarchy. Tarantino described Kill Bill as "the ultimate Quentin movie," highlighting its personal and creative significance. He identified Once Upon a Time in Hollywood as his favorite, while naming Inglourious Basterds his all-time masterpiece and best script.

While audiences await his final feature, a sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, titled The Adventures of Cliff Booth, is set for release next year, with David Fincher directing. Additionally, Tarantino is preparing a theatrical production for London’s West End, scheduled for 2026. Although details remain sparse, the project is anticipated to be a significant success, showcasing Tarantino’s return to the stage as he prepares to relocate for rehearsals.
